In doing this, we help your boiler run longer, but at a lower output. The other effect that this has on the boiler is that the flue gases exit the boiler colder, as the same amount of heat exchange surface is being used to remove the heat from a smaller fire. Colder flue gases mean more heat into your house and less up your chimney.
