Using Air Source Heat Pumps is like buying oil for $1.50 per gallon. Air source heat pumps use one unit of electricity to move 3 units of heat which means they are about 300% efficient while resistive electric heating systems are only 100% efficient.

As it gets colder outside, heat pumps produce less heat, making them hard to design as a stand alone system without adding insulation to the building.
