Efficiency Maine has recently implemented PACE financing, this is a low interest loan program designed to get Mainers access to low interest loans to make their homes more efficient. Loans are provided to residential customers up to $15,000 at 5%, with NO MONEY DOWN. These loans require the homeowner to get their home audited, and take on insulation and boiler upgrades that save, at a minimum, 25% of their energy costs. Because converting to a high efficiency natural gas boiler is already 20-30% more efficient than your oil boiler, you will easily qualify for the program.
